Art Nouveau in the context of realism: Ilya Repin at the turn of two centuries

The main subject of this research is the specificity I. E. Repin's perception dynamics artistic-aesthetic tasks formed under influence changing modernity. In view this, one compositional centers history relationship that developed between Repin and artists “first wave symbolism” – members association “The World Art” (primarily, editor-in-chief eponymous journal S. P. Diaghilev, A. N. Benois, K. Somov, Y. Lanceray). Special attention given to question by certain representatives avant-garde in 1910s. Developing range “attraction negation”, full dramatic comic moments, dialogue younger generation indicates hastiness univocal realism Art Nouveau as opposing imagery systems. For first time, on current level scientific comprehension aesthetics symbolism neo-romanticism, article analyzes attitude towards innovative pursuits artists. At same very concept interpreted two dimensions: a milestone context development art late XIX early XX century; an inner dynamic potential embedded his works since beginning creative path.
